Latest

::

Date Number One:

First of the Date Number One DVDs ships out this week, & the first round of promo posts & ads & trailers should be up on the web by the end of this coming week. A lot more DNO DVD promo activity coming up this month!

::

next movie:

Working on the script for the next movie (to be shot in March in NYC & MD). It may not be a film made under the Total Filmmaker Theory approach, so you can read about that project either at Filmmaker Sujewa blog or the blog/site for that next movie (will post link at my blogs when that blog/site is up).

Brooklyn Fantastic:

Being edited, should be done in October-November.

And that is the latest!

Trying out Etsy, got IFBRT DVD (homemade) available for sale there

Just posted the homemade DVD of Indie Film Blogger Road Trip for sale on Etsy. Not too many people selling indie movies/directly by the maker on that site, but I did see at least one other filmmaker doing it. Anyway, go here to see the IFBRT Homemade DVD listing at Etsy. Cost is $9 + $3 shipping in US or $5 shipping elsewhere on this fine world. And let me know if you have any questions about this title/DVD or about buying it - thanks!

Magnus & The Air Quotes Woman

This short film came from a deleted story from Date Number One. Perhaps we will see both characters in a future movie.

Project Details

1. Clean up; get all half completed & previously completed but not-yet-on-DVD & other media projects completed/released (starting now/September, on going until all previous projects that need to be available on DVD, etc. are available)

2. Create & distribute the new projects that will use the Total Filmmaker approach; what I've got planned are several loosely connected features, the whole thing may end up being similar to separate episodes of one show (except each DVD will have a 90 minutes or so long feature). Finishing up scripts & lightly planning shoots now, should have at least the first couple of "episodes"/features shot & edited by the end of 2010/release in late 2010 or early 2011. The total number of separate features/"episodes" may be somewhere between 6 to 12 (or possibly more), will have to see.

More soon.

The Total Filmmaker Theory

That's me while filming The Screening, Brooklyn, NY 2009, photo by Reid Gershbein

[i n t r o - I'm using the term theory in a very loose sense here (a fully developed theory would require me to write a lot more, but the goal is to use the energies towards doing it/making the movies & getting them out :), it is more like a feeling or seeing that the following may be possible (and it will be tried out in the coming days & weeks & months to see if it is in fact possible for me to do, in a significant scale; we'll define "significant scale" later - perhaps that will have to do with how widely distributed & well made the films will be, anyway, on to the theory...).]

The Total Filmmaker Theory

Interesting, entertaining (at least for some), creative feature length films can be made & distributed by a crew of one (a total filmmaker) or a small crew (less than five people). Feature length films can be made for $0 - $1000 & in a manner similar to the writing of a book or the creation of a painting (by one artist primarily, a total filmmaker).
